Raiffeisen Bank SA is a top universal bank on the Romanian market. The Bank provides a complete range of high quality products and services to private individuals, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large companies, via multiple distribution channels: banking outlets, ATM and EPOS networks, phone-banking (Raiffeisen Direct), mobile-banking (Raiffeisen Smart Mobile) and internet banking (Raiffeisen Online). Raiffeisen Bank has a network of 540 outlets throughout the country, that service approximately 2 million customers, aut of which almost 100,000 SMEs and 6,800 large and medium-sized companies. Raiffeisen Bank Romania resulted from the merger, in June 2002, of the two banks held by Raiffeisen Group on the local market: Raiffeisenbank (Romania) S.A., established in 1998 as a subsidiary of RZB Austria, and Banca Agricola Raiffeisen S.A., established in April 2001 after the takeover of the Romanian state-owned Banca Agricola by the Austrian group. Raiffeisen Bank is a subsidiary of Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI), Vienna-based, one of the leading corporate and investment banks from Austria and a top universal bank in CEE. RBI resulted from the merger of the principal business areas of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich AG (RZB) with Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding AG, transaction completed on October, 2010. RBI is a fully-consolidated subsidiary of RZB, that owns 78.5% of the common stock, the remainder is in free float. RBI’s shares are liste don the Vienna Stock Exchange.
