Founded in 1995, Mega Image is one of the first supermarket chains appeared in the local market. Mega Image is part of the Delhaize Group, an international retailer founded in 1867 in Belgium. The company currently owns two local market store formats: Mega Image and Shop & Go. At the end of 2013, Mega Image is considered one of the largest supermarket chains in Romania and the largest chain of Bucharest. Network comprised 472 stores, of which 217 Mega Image stores, 252 stores Shop & Go, 2 Gusturi Romanesti and one shop branded AB Cool Food.
