Halewood Winecellars is Dealu Mare's oldest wine making company with its origins dating 1949. The company's portfolio includes a wide range of wines, from the local ones, such as Feteasca Alba, Feteasca Neagra and Feteasca Regala, to international types of wine such as Pinot Gris, Viognier, Shiraz or Riesling. To achieve this complex assortment, Halewood Winecellars owns, through Halewood Estates, over 400 hectares of vineyards in the Dealu Mare Region, in Transylvania and in Murfatlar. The distances in between the vineyards exceed 500 kilometers. The wine brands fetching important revenues for Halewood Winecellars are Halewood, Prahova Valley, Byzantium, Cherry Tree Hill and Single Vineyard Selection. The company's turnover in 2008 reached almost 12 million Euros, whereas the export contributes with 35% of it and with 40% of total production.
