Depozitarul Central SA (Romania)

Depozitarul Central started its activity on January 3rd 2007, according to the RNSC decision, by providing depository and registry services for securities, traded on the regulated markets and alternative trading systems, as well as any other operations linked to them. The establishment of Depozitarul Central represents the essential condition to perform efficiently and on low costs the post-trading operations, as well as the cross border operations, in the perspective of the Romanian capital market’s integration to the European single financial market. In this respect, Depozitarul Central was established by externalizing the post-trading activities and mechanisms from the Bucharest Stock Exchange, based on Regisco SA structure, by in-kind and cash contribution and by transferring the specialized personnel. Depozitarul Central is the sole Romanian institution authorized to allocate and administrate ISIN (International Securities Identification Number) and CFI (Classification of Financial Instruments) codes according to ISO standards (International Organization of Standardization).
