Delgaz Grid SA (Romania)

Based on a Government Decision issued in 2000, the National Gas Company Romgaz (Societatea Naţională de Gaze Naturale Romgaz) was re-organized according to the services provided, thus resulting Distrigaz Sud Bucuresti and DistriGaz Nord. In June 2005 E.ON Ruhrgas, part of the german group E.ON, bought the majority stake of 51 in DistriGaz Nord with EUR 304 mil. Starting with April 2006, the company repositioned itself on the specific market, by adopting a new trading name testifying its affiliation to E.ON Group, more exactly E.ON Gaz Romania. On 1 July 2007, the legal separation of the supply activity from the distribution activity came into force. As a result of this separation, two legally independent companies have emerged: E.ON Gaz România, the natural gas supply company and E.ON Gaz Distribuţie, the natural gas distribution company. In January 2017 E.ON Distributie Romania changed its name to Delgaz Grid.
