Chimica SA was set up in 1938, in Orastie, having as main activity Arms Manufacturing and pyrotechnic materials. After World War II, in parallel with Arms Manufacturing new activities developed like Plastics Manufacturing. The pyrotechnic materials manufacturing was transferred to SC Rompiro SA which was capitalized in 2003. Chimica turned into a private owned company continuing the activity of Plastics Product Manufacturing. In 1990 Chimica begins the production of automotive plastic parts for the entire automotive industry in Romania. In 1999, Chimica splits and results a new company, Chimsport SA, having as main activity Sporting Goods Manufacturing. The industrial portfolio of Chimica Grup also includes: Chimica Automotive which produces plastic injected parts for the automotive industry; Chimsport Automotive purchased in 2015 as a Tier 1 supplier in the relationship between Chimica Automotive - Dacia Renault; Chimica R&D that is developing new products, particularly in the plastics industry; Chimica Medical which deals with the injection of plastics for the medical industry; Chimica BLC & Navete which deals with the injection of plastics for shuttles, barrels, storage containers, plastic consumer goods.
