Bayer SRL appears as a Romanian legal entity in 1997, but the company's history dates back to 1929, the year when Aspirin trade-mark was registered in Romania. The first Bayer branch was opened in Romania in 1968. In 2004, all group activities in Romania are centralized by Bayer Bayer SRL. In 2006, Bayer took over Schering AG (globally), and in 2007 the Schering team was integrated into the structures of Bayer Romania.
