Banca Comerciala Romana SA (BCR) was founded in 1990, is a universal bank serving both retail and corporate clients. Banca Comerciala Romana SA (BCR), a member of Erste Group, is the most important financial group in Romania, providing universal banking operations (retail, corporate & investment banking, treasury and capital markets), and covering specialty companies working on the leasing market, private pensions and housing banks. Today the bank operates through a network of 667 branches, 28 retail centers, housing, 48 units type corporate business centers in 8 regions of bussines. Austrian Erste Bank is the majority shareholder of BCR after paying, in the fall of 2006, 3.75 billion for almost 62% of the shares. EGB Ceps Holding, the new majority shareholder of BCR in September 2009. BCR offers a full range of banking services, including internet banking, phone banking and e-commerce solutions. BCR is part of the group that also includes BCR BCR Housing Bank, BCR Pensions Management Company Private Pension Funds SA, BCR Leasing and BCR Chisinau.
