Athenee Palace SA becomes part of the Hilton in 1997, holding 36% stake Athenee Phenix Group SA - the company which owns five-star Hilton hotel in Bucharest. In late May 2008, the manufacturer of electric motors Ana Imep has acquired an 18.89% stake. Also in July 2008, the Government approved the privatization by listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) of 7 hotels in holding shares, among which the Athenee Palace.
