Asito Kapital SA (former Lukoil Asito SA) was founded in July 1998 as part of the Russian Lukoil Insurance Group. The main goal of the company was to provide insurance services for the employees of Lukoil company in Romania. It was not until the beginning of 2003 that the decision was made to substantially develop the company further, from an one client company (i.e. Lukoil), into a general insurance market company offering services to general public. In 2005 the company changed its name into Asito Kapital.
