Alro SA (Romania)

Alro SA is the largest aluminum smelter in Romania, founded in 1963. Alro is a Romania-based aluminum smelter. The company primarily operates in Europe. The company is engaged in the business of producing aluminum in central and Eastern Europe. The company is part of the international industrial and investment group Vimetco NV, which operates in the aluminum industry. Alro's shares are traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. More than 80% of Alro's output is sold on the international market through the London Metal Exchange, and based on direct contracts with long-term customers in European Union, Italy, Greece, Austria, Hungary, Balkan countries and the United States. Alro is one of the largest aluminium producer in Central and Eastern Europe measured by volume with an installed production capacity of 265,000 tonnes per year, 300,000 tonnes of primary aluminum cast products and 120,000 tonnes of processed aluminium products. Also, Alro is one of the biggest companies in Romania, having a major contribution to the development of the local and national economy.
