Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) is an Islamic bank, established in 1991. Headquartered in Doha and with offices across the country, it offers both individual solutions and corporate banking, according to the Islamic interest-free banking principles. In addition to the most common Islamic banking services, QIIB has developed mobile baking services, Internet banking and phone banking. Its strategy focuses on exploring both local and international markets, working for sustainable returns for its shareholders. Corporate banking division focuses largely on projects of national significance in infrastructure, industry, transportation and communication. It also supports SMEs within two agreements with Qatar’s Economy Ministry and Qatar Development Bank. On an international level, QIIB cooperates with a credit institution in Morocco. It is one of the founders of Islamic Bank of Britain and of Syria International Islamic Bank. In Pakistan QIIB along with partners has established an Islamic Takaful insurance company. QIIB boasts A-tier credit ratings by the big rating agencies, including Fitch, Moody’s and Capital Intelligence.
