The University of Krakow, founded on May 12, 1364 by Polish king Kazimierz Wielki, is the oldest university in Poland and one of the oldest in the region of Europe. Currently, the university has over 540 professors, 730 habilitated doctors, 2,600 teaching staff, around 50,000 students and doctoral candidates, as well as over 3,500 administrative employees. The university is involved in various infrastructure projects, such as the completion of the 600th Anniversary Campus of the Jagiellonian University, the construction of the Center for Natural Education and the Institute of Geology, the construction and modernization of the Paderevianum building for the Faculty of Philology, and the comprehensive renovation of the Collegium Novum building and the streets of the university quarter. These investments are funded by various sources, including the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the European Union, the City of Krakow, the Social Committee for the Restoration of Historic Monuments in Krakow, and the university's own funds. The university aims to provide a conducive environment for research and teaching, as well as a friendly learning space for students.
