Tauron Wydobycie S.A. is a key producer of thermal coal in Poland. It operates three mining plants in western Małopolska and eastern Silesian Voivodeship: ZG Sobieski in Jaworzno, ZG Brzeszcze in Brzeszcze, and ZG Janina in Libiąż. The main customers of the coal produced in these three mining plants are households, professional energy sector, and district heating. As a result of changes in the structure of the domestic raw materials and energy sector, Tauron Wydobycie has been functioning under the same name outside the Tauron Capital Group since January 1, 2023. The company is solely owned by the State Treasury.
