Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan is one of the oldest international banks in Pakistan. It is licensed to perform both conventional and Islamic banking activities. The first office of the bank, then known as the Chartered Bank, kicked off in Karachi in the second half of the 19th century, but operates under its current form since 2006, when it acquired the Union Bank. The bank serves retail, corporate and institutional customers. Its retail deals with credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, deposits, wealth management services to individuals and small and medium enterprises. Its corporate and institutional division specializes in trade finance, cash management, lending, foreign exchange and debt capital market. Its Islamic banking solutions are marketed under the brand Standard Chartered Saadiq brand. The bank has 101 branches and nearly 200 ATMs.
