Makati Finance Corporation, located in Makati, was established on February 17, 1966 as Makati Investment and Finance Corporation (MIFC) by the Benitez Family. Initially, MIFC focused on stock dealership, credit facilities, and private placements. In the mid-1970s, MIFC was acquired by the Amalgamated Development Corporation (ADC) and shifted its focus to lending activities. MFC's main products included real estate financing, appliance financing, fleet car financing, and insurance services. In 1993, the Benitez family regained control of MFC and implemented a new management team. The company introduced new products and services such as factoring of trade receivables, Doctor's loan, and motorcycle financing. MFC has also expanded its operations and increased its capitalization. The company is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. MFC was listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange under the Small and Medium Enterprise category on January 6, 2003.
