Energy Development Corporation, formerly PNOC Energy Development Corporation (EDC), is a geothermal energy producer in the Philippines. Incorporated in 1976, the company operates in four contract areas. The first is in Leyte Geothermal Production Field. The power produced in this field is sold to National Power Corporation (NPC) for distribution to Luzon and Cebu. Second is the Southern Negros Field, Electical power generated from this field is transmitted to Panay and Cebu Islands. Third is the BacMan Field located in Luzon, which supplies steam to a distant NPC power plant that distributes power to Luzon. The last one is the Mindanao Field, Power from this field is used to meet energy needs in Mindanao. To note, EDC has recently started the operation of its fifth contract area in Northern Negros. The companys head office is located in Pasig City.
