It was incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on January 5, 1993, under the name Southern Visayas Property Holdings, Inc. The company's name was changed to Discovery World Corporation on March 21, 2013. DWC develops, operates, and manages luxury destinations in the Philippines. DWC's primary purpose is to develop, invest in, own, acquire, administer, construct, and operate hotels, resorts, condominiums, and other tourist-related structures. They also provide transportation and shuttle services for tourists using various modes of transportation. Discovery Shores Boracay is DWC's flagship project, an 88-suite resort hotel located in Station 1 of Boracay Island. The company also owns and operates Club Paradise Palawan, a luxury resort in Dimakya Island, Coron, Palawan. DWC recently opened a retail strip called "Shoppes at Vanilla Beach" in El Nido, Palawan, and is developing a hotel-and-hostel under the brand "Kip & Kin" set to open in 2024.
