It was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 3, 1997, and began operations on October 31, 1997. AUB obtained approval from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) to upgrade its license to expanded commercial banking status in 2012 and was granted universal banking status in 2013. AUB offers a wide range of banking and financial products and services, including corporate and consumer loans, deposit products, corporate banking, treasury and trust products, cash management solutions, and other services. Its customers include consumers, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and large corporations. The bank is publicly listed and has three principal/substantial stockholders: Republic Biscuit Corporation, Kuo Yu Philippines Holdings Corporation, and Lambda Holdings Corporation. AUB operates through different business segments, including Commercial, Consumer, Treasury, Branch Banking, and Others. The Commercial segment provides lending, trade, and cash management services to corporate and institutional customers. The Consumer segment offers consumer banking services to retail customers. The Treasury segment manages the Group's strategic treasury objectives, including proprietary trading, liquidity, risk, and capital management. The Branch Banking segment offers retail deposit products and lending to corporate and institutional customers. The Others segment includes income from trust activities, remittances, and gains on foreclosure.
