Supermercados Peruanos, is a company organized as a corporation in 1979 under the name of "Promociones Camino Real SA ". In 1993, the Chilean supermarket chain Santa Isabel acquired the company, changing its name to Santa Isabel SA Supermarkets. Finally, in 2004, the board of directors of the company changed its name to Supermercados Peruanos S.A. SPSA operates a network of supermarkets in three formats: supermarkets under the brand: Vivanda,Plaza Vea Super and Market San Jorge.; hypermarkets, branded: Plaza Vea and discount stores or supermarkets, with brands: Mass, Economax . Within the chain of company stores, 47 are in Lima, 1 in Chiclayo, Trujillo 1, 1 and 1 in Huancayo Arequipa made up of 26 hypermarkets. The company is part of the Interbank group, who in turn, is part of IFH Peru Ltd.
