Bank Of China Limited (Panama)

Bank of China Limited, located in Panama City, is a Chinese financial institution that established a representative office in Panama in 1987 and became a Panama branch in 1994. It is the only Chinese financial institution in Central America and the Caribbean with a full-function license. The main business of Bank of China Panama Branch includes corporate finance, personal finance, financial institutions, financial markets, trade settlement, and financing. Over the past thirty years, the branch has experienced significant growth in customers, business varieties, business scale, profitability, and risk prevention capabilities. As of the end of 2017, the branch had assets of US$2.64 billion, deposits of US$3.35 billion, and loans of US$2.15 billion. In the rankings announced by the Panama Supervisory Authority of Banks, the branch ranked 14th in total assets and deposits, and 13th in loans and net profit among 74 banks in Panama. It is comparable to the mainstream banks in Panama.
