The Bank is running the commercial banking business in Nepal. It was incorporated as a public limited company in Nepal on 29th May, 2006 to run commercial banking business and obtained licence from Nepal Rastra Bank (Central Bank of Nepal) on 31st December, 2006 to run its business as a commercial bank in Nepal. The registered office of the Bank is Adarshanagar-13, Birgunj, Parsa, Nepal and the principal place of the business is Kantipath, Kathmandu.
The Bank is quoted on Nepal Stock Exchange.
The name of the Bank was changed to Global IME Bank Limited subsequent to the merger of the Bank with two financial Institutions
namely IME Financial Institution Ltd. and Lord Buddha Finance Ltd. on July 9, 2012.
On July 13, 2013, the Bank merged with two more development Banks licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank viz., Social Development Bank Ltd. and Gulmi Bikas Bank Ltd.
During the year 2013-14, the Bank merged with Commerz and Trust Bank Nepal Limited.
