Timberwell Berhad is a public company located in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. It was incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 and registered under the Companies Act 2016 on May 13, 1996. The company was listed on the Second Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on May 16, 1997, offering 6,000,000 Ordinary Shares for sale. Timberwell Berhad holds the Sustainable Forest Management Licence Agreement 06/97 (SFMLA) granted by the State Government of Sabah. This license covers an area of 71,293 hectares in the Lingkabau Forest Reserve, Kota Marudu, Sabah. The agreement allows the company to plant, rehabilitate, and harvest timber logs within the license area for a period of 100 years starting from September 10, 1997. In April 2018, Timberwell Berhad entered into a Supplemental Agreement with the Chief Minister of Sabah to amend the SFMLA. The amendments involve rezoning the New License Area, Rezoned Area, and Excised Area. The expansion of the Industrial Tree Plantation area in the New License Area is expected to enhance the company's long-term prospects by increasing production capacity and planting area. The company operates under four business divisions. The Forestry Division oversees timber harvesting and forest regeneration activities, following sustainable forest management principles. The harvested timber is supplied to local millers and exported to countries in the Asia Region. The Plantation Division cultivates industrial trees of approved species to sustain the forest's long-term commercial value. The company has committed to an industrial tree plantation covering 30,125.38 hectares within the Lingkabau Forest Reserve. The cultivated species include Laran, Binuang, Jelutung, rubber tree, Mahogany, and Eucalyptus. The Trading Division is involved in timber marketing and trading, while the Property Division manages and invests in the company's properties.
