The Company is the largest exporter of tobacco products in Malaysia and is an affiliate of Philip Morris International (PMI), the leading international tobacco company with products sold in approximately 160 countries. PMI first entered the Malaysian cigarette market through the establishment of GPM as a subsidiary for the distribution of Marlboro in 1968. Since 1998, GPM has been solely responsible for PMI’s domestic business in Malaysia.
In 1995, the Company was established as a manufacturing affiliate handling both export and domestic production.
Current domestic brands under the Company’s banner in Malaysia includes Marlboro and L&M. The Company exports to more than 25 countries including Indonesia, Singapore, Indochina, Taiwan, Hong Kong as well as countries in the Middle East and South Asia.
