IFR Tlapanaltomin, S.C. de A.P. de R.L. de C.V. is a worker cooperative that originated in the Montaña region of the state of Guerrero. Its name comes from the Nahuatl language, meaning "growing money." It was initially supported by the National Indigenous Institute (INI), now known as the CDI, through a regional fund called "Ita Kuan." At that time, Tlapanaltomin or "Ita Kuan" was not legally constituted, but it operated with the backing of the INI and managed resources through federal and state programs.
