Compañía Minera Autlán S.A.B. de C.V. was founded in 1953 in order to exploit manganese in Autlan, Jalisco. In 1960 began the exploration and exploitation of manganese deposits located in Molango, Hidalgo. In 1989, the Federal Government took possession of the company for administration to finally return to the private sector in 1993 following its acquisition by “Grupo Ferrominero, S.A de C.V.” It is a mining company vertically integrated and dedicated to the exploration, extraction, manufacturing and sale of manganese minerals, as well as to the manufacturing and sale of ferroalloys. It has been listed on the Mexican Stock Exchange since 1975.
