Teteks AD Tetovo, established in 1951 as a state-owned company, is a fully privatized joint stock company. Its product range includes garments, knitwear, fabrics, blankets and yarns. Teteks operates four major production plants – a spinning mill, a weaving mill, a garment production plant and a knitwear production plant. The production is vertically connected and starts with the raw materials as wool, polyester and acrylic fibers, entering the spinning mill, through the yarns to the fabrics or knits, finishing as ready-to-wear garments. The garment production plant is the biggest production unit in Teteks with annual capacity of approx. 1 million pieces of garments. The company's main export markets are the United States (USD 15 million per year), Germany, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Yugoslavia, etc. Teteks has representative outlets in the United States, Germany, Russia, Bulgaria, Serbia and Albania. Its average turnover amounts to about USD 50 million, USD 28 million of which are from export sales. The company privatization process begun in 1991 and has been fully completed in 1995. Currently, the company combines in its group 7 subsidiaries - five in Macedonia and one in Bulgaria and Serbia.
