Hilal Cement Company (K.S.C.P) (Kuwait)

The Company is engaged in Import, storage and distribution of cement and other bulk materials and establishing, operating and managing storage silos and acquiring interests in other companies engaged in similar activities, investing surplus funds through portfolio managers in snares of investment and real estate companies.
The Company acquired 51 of the total capital shares of Hilal Cement Company.
The Company is the third largest player in the cement business and manages two cement import terminals in southern Kuwait. In 2008, the company purchased ALMahaliya ready mix concrete company, a ready mixed concrete producer with average annual capacity of production about 400,000 m3.The vertical integration process in the ready mixed concrete has further strengthened after the acquisition of Kuwait German Ready Mix and Gulf Ready Mix.

The new local production structure combines the operations of Al Mahaliya and Kuwait German Ready mix Gulf Ready Mix (about 900,000 m3) yearly, making the Group one of the largest RMC producers.
The Company is one of the major trader of bulk cement in Kuwait. Equipped with a 70,000-tonne capacity floating terminal, a 40,000-tonne capacity land terminal shed and a bagging plant capable of producing 1,000 bags per hour, Hilal makes about .5- .7 million tonnes of cement each year. Its floating terminal – Barge “Hilalcement I” – is capable of unloading a PANAMAX Vessel with 47,000 tonnes of bulk cement cargo within six days.
The company joined the Italcementi Group after its subsidiary – Suez Cement Group of Companies – purchased 51 of Hilal's shares in 2007. Hilal then acquired 51 of three ready mix cement producers in 2008, increasing its Kuwaiti ready mix market share to 10 .
The company was incorporated on January 19, 1984, as a closed Kuwaiti shareholding company and was listed in Kuwait Stock Exchange on December 22, 1998.
In 2016, Italcementi Group was acquired by Heidelberg Cement Group, as a result, Hilal became the part of HC Group of companies.
The Parent Company is a subsidiary of Suez Cement Company S.A.E. (the Ultimate Parent Company ), which owns 51 (2017: 51 ) of its ordinary shares and is based and listed in Egypt.
