SK Innovation, formerly SK Energy Co., Ltd., is a Korea-based company engaged in oil development business. The Company mainly operates its business under three segments: oil development, asphalt and research and development segments. Its oil development segment is mainly engaged in the development of liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects and exploitation of petroleum in overseas countries such as Peru, Vietnam, Brazil and others. The asphalt segment provides polymer modified asphalt and other asphalt products. The research and development segments provides operation and maintenance services and training services for companies engaged in oil and chemical related businesses. The Company was also engaged in petroleum division and chemical division, which were separated on January 1, 2011, and coal mining business, which was sold to SK Networks Co., Ltd. on February 1, 2011.
