Jamaica Public Service Company Limited (JPS) is an integrated electric utility company located in Kingston, Jamaica. It is the sole distributor of electricity in the country. The company is involved in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity. Additionally, JPS purchases power from various Independent Power Producers (IPPs). Marubeni Corporation of Japan and Korea East-West Power (EWP) jointly own 80% of the shares in JPS, while the Government of Jamaica and a small group of minority shareholders own the remaining shares. With a team of over 1,600 members, JPS serves more than 680,000 customers on a daily basis.
