Bank Saderat Iran, also referred to as BSI, is an Iranian credit institution headquartered in the city of Tehran. BSI was established in 1952. Its core business is related to trade finance services, including foreign currency accounts, money transfer, cheques, and import facilities, such as refinancing and letters of guarantee. BSI has overseas branches in Europe, the Middle East and the Gulf States, where it also provides retail-banking services. The bank’s shares are traded on Tehran Stock Exchange. Bank Saderat, like all Iranian banks, operate under the principles of Islamic Sharia law, which bans the charge and payment of interest.
