Skyline Millars Ltd., located in Mumbai, was incorporated as The ACME Manufacturing Company Limited on November 28, 1919, under the Indian Companies Act, 1913. It was later renamed Millars India Limited on January 4, 2002, and then changed to Skyline Millars Limited on October 23, 2007. The company was initially promoted by the Walchand Group, but in 1972, Mr. Ashok Patel, son of Mr. J.V. Patel, acquired the shares and took over the management. In 1969 and 1970, Mr. J.V. Patel acquired Khandelwal Udyog Limited, a manufacturer of EOT Cranes, and Millars Timber and Trading Company, respectively. Khandelwal Udyog Limited was merged with The ACME Manufacturing Company Limited in 1974. In 1984, the company took over the running business of construction machinery from M/s Millars Machinery Company Private Limited. Mr. Ashok J. Patel served as the Managing Director of the company from 1974 to 1984 and later became the Chairman until 2009. The main activities of Skyline Millars Ltd. include manufacturing construction equipment, EOT cranes, and property development. The company's manufacturing operations were fully shifted from Ghatkopar, Mumbai to Karamsad, Gujarat in October 2003. In addition to its core manufacturing activities, the company has also diversified into manufacturing RCC Pipes, Manhole Systems, Precast Products, and real estate development with equal success.
