Modi Industries Limited (MIL) is a Public Limited Company located in P.O. Modi Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. It was incorporated in the year 1932. Under the leadership of Rai Bahadur Seth Gujar Mal Modi, MIL initially started as a Sugar Mill called Modi Sugar Mills Limited in 1933. Later, the name was changed to Modi Industries Limited. Over the years, MIL expanded its operations and established various units including Modi Torch and Lantern, Modi Soap, Modi Paint & Varnish, Modi Vanaspati, Modi Gas, Modi Arc Electrodes Unit, Modi Steel, and Modi Distillery. However, due to heavy losses, the units Modi Torch and Lantern, Modi Soap, Modi Paint & Varnish, Modi Vanaspati, and Modi Gas have been permanently closed. In 2020, Shri Umesh Kumar Modi was appointed as the Chairman and Managing Director of the company. Since then, there has been an improvement in the company's performance. The closed Modi Arc Electrode Co. has been restarted with significant capital investment, and the Distillery Unit is undergoing expansion. The financial performance of the company has been improving year by year under the complete management of Shri Umesh Kumar Modi.
