Kanco Tea & Industries Ltd., located in Kolkata, is a company that owns and operates Mackeypore, Lakhmijan, and Bamonpookrie Tea estates. These estates produce approximately 2.6 million kilograms of black tea annually. The company has a long history of experience and expertise in producing quality tea, making them one of the top quality selling gardens in Assam. The Mackeypore and Lakmijan Tea Estates were acquired by The Ananda (Assam) Tea Co. Limited in 1969 through a Sale Agreement. In 1970, the undertakings of The Ananda (Assam) Tea Co. Limited were taken over by Bengal Tea Company Limited, which later became Bengal Tea & Fabrics Limited. The Maple Group of Bengal Tea & Fabrics Limited, including Mackeypore Tea Estate, Lakmijan Tea Estate, and Asarwa Overseas Unit, was transferred to Tuscon Resources Limited in 1997. Tuscon Resources Limited changed its name to Kanco Enterprises Limited in 1998. The Tea Division of Kanco Enterprises Limited, consisting of Mackeypore Tea Estate and Lakmijan Tea Estate, was transferred to Dhanvaridhi Concerns Limited in 2009. Dhanvaridhi Concerns Limited changed its name to Kanco Tea & Industries Limited in 2010. In March 2017, Kanco Tea & Industries Ltd. acquired Bamonpookrie Tea Estate. The company employs over 2400 workers, with a significant number of them being women. They prioritize worker's welfare and development and maintain cordial relations with their Worker's Unions.
