Indorama India Pvt Ltd is a subsidiary of Indorama Corporation, one of Asia's leading chemical companies. The company was founded in 1975 by M.L. Lohia and S.P. Lohia as Indorama Synthetics in Indonesia. Initially, it started as a cotton yarn spinning company but later diversified into the production of polyester fibers from petchem derivatives and PET resins. Headquartered in Singapore, Indorama Corporation manufactures a wide range of products including nitrogen fertilizers, phosphate fertilizers, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, textiles, cotton fiber, and medical gloves. They are the largest producer of urea and phosphate fertilizers in Sub-Saharan Africa, the largest producer of polyolefins in West Africa, and the third largest producer of synthetic gloves globally. Additionally, they are an integrated producer of cotton and synthetic spun yarns. The company employs over 20,000 people worldwide. Indorama India Pvt Ltd is associated with Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL), which is the largest producer of PET Resin in the world and one of the biggest producers of polyester feedstock.
