Diana Tea Company Limited (DTCL) is a century-old company based in Kolkata, India. It was registered in 1911 and was previously run by Nawab Gulam Jabbar & Family until 1976. DTCL is primarily engaged in the cultivation and manufacture of tea, specifically from its Diana Tea Estate. In 1976, Aares Group took over the estate and significantly increased its production capacity from 2.5 lakh kgs per annum to 10 lakh kgs per annum. Under the leadership of Late Shri Radheshyam Singhania, the then Chairman of AARES group, the company focused on field development and upgrading field practices to make Diana Tea Estate one of the best gardens in the Dooars region of West Bengal in terms of quality, quantity, and maintenance. Currently, the estate produces around 10 lakh kgs of tea annually. In 2010, Diana Tea Estate won the prestigious award for manufacturing quality C.T.C tea, earning the title of "queen of Dooars" among more than 150 tea gardens in the region. In 1994, the company made an initial public issue of its equity shares, which were oversubscribed 2.5 times. The shares were listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and Calcutta Stock Exchange. Aares Group further expanded its tea business by acquiring Baintgoorie Tea Estate in 1983 and Goodhope Tea Estate in 1997. Currently, DTCL produces 3.54 million kgs of black tea annually from its three estates - Diana, Baintgoorie, and Goodhope Tea Estates. The company aims to grow in the plantation business through consolidation and modernization of its existing tea plantations. It also plans to expand its plantation business through the acquisition of other tea estates domestically or internationally. Additionally, DTCL intends to launch various value-added tea products in the Indian market and become a one-stop-shop for anything related to tea.
