AXA Investiční Společnost a.s. is a company that has been active on the Czech market since 1992, when the company Credit Suisse First Boston first established its presence in the Czech Republic. At the time, the company was the investment banking pioneer in the Czech Republic and it was also one of the founding members of the Prague Stock Exchange. The company Credit Suisse Asset Management operated in the Czech Republic under this investment bank until 1995; and, between 1995 through 2006, it was represented on the Czech market as a standalone company belonging to the Credit Suisse Group by two companies – Credit Suisse Asset Management Investiční Společnost, a.s. and Winterthur Asset Management (Praha) a.s. In 2006, Winterthur Asset Management (Praha) a.s. was licensed by the Czech National Bank as an investment company and, after the acquisition of the Winterthur Group by the AXA Group, the company changed its name to AXA Investiční Společnost a.s. The company's key activities are collective investing in the form of the creation and management of mutual funds and the management of institutional portfolios for the member entities of the AXA Group.
