Javorice A.S. is a company located in Prostejov, Czech Republic. It was incorporated in 1984 and initially operated with a sawing capacity of 160,000 cubic meters of softwood per year. In the early 1990s, the company faced serious financial problems and was privatized. It came under the ownership of EPKG, the predecessor of the CE WOOD group, and was renamed Javorice A.S. Over the years, Javorice A.S. underwent economic recovery and underwent various modernization projects. In 1999 and 2000, the main sawing line was upgraded, replacing band saws with disc sawing units. Chamber dryers were also constructed during this period. The company experienced significant modernization and capacity expansion from 2004 to 2006. A new log sorting conveyor with the latest debarking technology was installed. The bark processing unit focused on producing mulching bark. The sawing process was upgraded with a new combination of disc and band saws, primarily for cutting logs with a diameter of 38+. Two sorting stations with 30 boxes each were created for lumber sorting. The final phase of the major modernization project involved the construction of an additional block of chamber dryers with five units. In 2008, Javorice A.S. faced significant economic problems, along with the entire CE WOOD group. In early 2009, all employees were laid off, and the company entered insolvency. However, it was later resolved through court-ordered reorganization. Production ceased permanently at the facilities in Bystřice pod Hostýnem and Vysočany. Javorice A.S. successfully fulfilled its reorganization plan, becoming a financially stable company. In 2010, Javorice A.S. was acquired by a new shareholder, leading to its "resurrection." Operations resumed at the end of the year, although the sawing volume was initially limited. Production and the number of employees gradually increased, and since 2013, the company has consistently achieved positive financial results, leading to new investment projects. These include general repairs, the construction of additional dryer units, expansion of paved areas, installation of impregnation tanks, and the replacement of problematic technological nodes. Investments were also made in the boiler room and service facilities. Currently, Javorice A.S. has a sawing capacity of nearly 400,000 cubic meters in two shifts and employs 180 people. It has become a stable and reliable company and focuses on preparing for a new investment in modern sawing technology, which will be installed by the end of 2019. This marks a new chapter in the history of the Ptení Sawmill.
