Joint-stock company Nutricia Deva Nové Město nad Metují is one of the oldest manufacturers of infant and baby fruit type food and was the first manufacturer of non-milk products in Eastern and Central Europe. Manufacturing began in 1950 on a line delivered through UNICEF fund . In 1995 there was a partial takeover of Dutch company Nutricia, now Koninklijke (Royal) NV NUMICO In 2007 the company was bought by French company NUMCO Danone. Nutricia in the CR is represented by two units: marketing and sales unit and Nutricia in Prague and the production plant Nutricia Deva OJSC in Nove Mesto nad Metují.
