Florida Ice and Farm Company S.A. (FIFCO) is a Costa Rican food and beverages company headquartered in Heredia, Costa Rica. It was founded in 1908 by the Lindo Brothers and initially focused on agriculture and ice production. In 1912, the company entered the beverages market by purchasing a brewery and beverages business. Over the years, FIFCO expanded its operations and acquired several breweries and beverage companies, including Cervecería Ortega and Cervecería Tropical. In 2006, the company diversified its operations by acquiring Industrias Alimenticias Kern's y Compañía S.C.A., which brought along canned beans, sauces, and pasta products. FIFCO also purchased the operations of SAB Miller in Costa Rica in 2007, which included the distribution rights for Pepsi Cola in the country. The company has a catalog of over 2000 products and sells them in over 15 countries. FIFCO is structured as a holding company with three subsidiaries: Florida Bebidas, Florida Capitales, and Florida Inmobiliaria. In 1979, the company went public and started trading on the Costa Rican National Stock Exchange. In recent years, FIFCO has expanded into new markets, such as China, and entered new industries, including the bakery and dairy markets. In 2012, FIFCO purchased North American Breweries Holdings, which sells various beer brands in the United States.
