Olam Agro Colombia initiated operations in early 2007 with the establishment of a coffee sourcing and export business. Initially only a coffee operation, it is now also a significant player in the teak sector in the region. The company started its coffee operations with the purchase of a mill in Armenia, capital of the department of Quindio, and today has three processing facilities and seven warehousing operations throughout the country, with the latest being the top of the line mill in the Antioquia Region. Olam Agro Colombia is also among the top 5 private coffee exporters in the country. The regional teak business is based out of the port city of Cartagena. The company is one of the largest exporters of teak from Colombia and it ships this product to different destinations on the Asian market.
