Makro Super Mayoristas S.A.S. is a subsidiary of the Dutch SHV Holdings (Steenkolen Handels-Vereeniging). In Colombia it began its participation in the year 1995 thanks to the alliance made with the local company Grupo Empresarial Antioqueño GEA. In 2009 GEA sold all of its shares to Grupo SHV.
Makro Supermayorista is engaged in the wholesale market (type Cash and Carry), offering different inputs for all sectors of the economy such as restaurants, hotels, casinos, clubs, merchants, institutions, industries, etc. The company has more than 16 stores in 12 cities in the country. In Latin America it is also presented in Brazil and Argentina.
