The National Coffee Fund is the main source of financing for public goods and services that benefit coffee growers themselves, such as purchase guarantees, scientific research and technological development, rural extension services, and promotion and advertising. It is a parafiscal account, made up of money considered public, which is mainly fed by the coffee contribution paid for each pound of coffee exported.
