On January 31, 1990, the Compania Suramericana de Servicios de Salud (SUSALUD) was founded as a Prepaid Medicine company. Later, on March 16, 1995, it received its approval as a Health Promotion Organization (EPS) and began its participation in the General System of Social Security in Colombian Health. In 2009 Susalud changed its brand and become EPS SURA.
As a Health Promotion Organization EPS SURA offers POS services and Complementary Health Plans. EPS SURA has divisions of assistance to support its management with entities such as: IPS Health Point, Dynamic IPS, Home Health, Point of View and Consulting on professional risks.
