Cementos Argos S.A. (Colombia)

Argos was founded in Medellín on February 27th, 1934 by Claudino Arango Jaramillo, Rafael and Jorge Arango Carraquilla, Carlos Sevillano Gomez, Leopoldo Arango Cevallos and Carlos Ochoa Velez . In 2006, it purchased Ready Mixed Concrete Company in the United States, merged its concrete producing companies in Colombia (Agrecón, Concretos de Occidente and Metroconcreto) and purchased the cement and concrete assets of Cementos Andino and Concrecem in Colombia. The Company has an extensive logistic infrastructure for business development that allows the mobilization of raw materials and the finished product at competitive costs. Argos has 14 cement producing plants on the American continent. Eleven of them are in Colombia and the rest are located in Panama, the Dominican Republic and Haiti. The company uses also its own power generation plants for its productive processes.
