Biocombustibles S.A. was constituted on February 27th, 2004. It is engaged in wholesale and retail trade of fuel and oil products. It also covers all operational and management processes related to marketing, support, reception, storage, distribution of petroleum products and biofuels. In addition, it also imports and exports oil, lubricants, additives used in the automotive and machinery industry and owns a chain of eco-gasoline stations operating under the brand names Biomax and Brio. In August 2011 Biocombustibles signed an agreement with one of the Brazilian companies, leader in the natural gas transportation, aiming at the development of such activity in Colombia. On 28th of September 2011 the fusion of the two companies was formalized (Brio de Colombia - Biomax). In June 2013 63.78% of Biomax were acquired by a Honduras-based holding company Grupo Terra which is investing in the energy, oil, chemistry, infrastructure and services sectors.
