Tianjin Hi-Tech Development Co., Ltd., formerly known as Tianjin Grand Department Store Co., Ltd., was established as a joint stock limited company in 1992 on the basis of Tianjin Jonguan Co., Ltd., which was set up in 1926. With the approval of the company’s provisional shareholders' meeting for year 2001 on Dec. 12, 2001, the company changed to the present name and changed its business scope from general merchandise to development and investment of high-tech industry. The company’s A shares were listed on Shanghai Stock Exchange on June 20, 1997. As an industrial building developer and operator the company’s main businesses include development of industrial buildings, as well as provision of rental services and incubation services. Its estate properties include business process outsourcing (BPO) site, hi-tech innovation base and hi-tech green industrial base, among others. The company primarily conducts its business in North China, with Tianjin Hi-Tech Industrial Park as its major business area. As of December 31, 2010, the company had six major holding subsidiaries, which involved in electronic information technology development, property development and industrial investment, as well as other businesses.
