Jiangsu Transportation Research Institute Co., Ltd. (Herein referred to as JSTRI) was established in 1978. Currently, the business scope of JSTRI has covered such industries as highway, municipal, hydraulic, railway, urban rails, aerial, architecture and environmental evaluation, having become an enterprise group with planning consultancy, survey and design, scientific research, testing and detection, consultancy of quality management and R&D of new materials, new technologies and new products as the core business. Its business covers 28 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, with the total business volume rising from nearly 30 million Yuan (RMB) before the system reform to 1.04 billion Yuan (RMB) in 2010. A batch of international and domestic leading scientific and technological achievements and new materials have been extensively applied to the national and provincial key projects such as the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, Nanjing-Hangzhou Expressway, Nanjing Subway, Runyang Yangtze River Bridge, Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge and Suzhou-Nantong Yangtze River Bridge, with accumulated expressway mileage reaching more than 7,000km.
