Forestal Mininco S.A. is a Chilean company that was founded in 1947 as a forestry project of the textile factory Paños Bellavista de Tomé in the current location of Mininco, Collipulli commune. Over time, the project expanded from 600 hectares to over 3,000 hectares in the 1950s. In 1957, the forestry project was acquired by the Compañía Manufacturera de Papeles y Cartones (CMPC). Forestal Mininco, a subsidiary of CMPC, is involved in the production of wood, plants, and seeds. The company operates in five out of the 15 regions of Chile and also has operations in the Argentine provinces of Misiones and Corrientes through its subsidiary Bosques del Plata. In 2012, Forestal Mininco's plantations in the Carahue and Lumaco communes were affected by a major fire, with the company's manager stating that there were sufficient grounds to believe it was an intentional act.
