Empresa Portuaria Valparaíso (EPV) is a state-owned entity that was created by Law No. 19.542 on December 19, 1997. It is responsible for the administration, operation, development, and conservation of the port of Valparaíso, as well as any related activities necessary for its proper functioning. EPV is the legal successor of Empresa Portuaria de Chile, with all its rights, obligations, and assets. It was legally established on January 31, 1998. Puerto Valparaíso maintains three concession contracts with important companies in the country to enhance the port's competitiveness in terms of logistics, security, and technology, all in line with the sustainable development of the city. EPV also oversees the administration of a significant public space in Valparaíso, known as Paseo Muelle Prat.
